Buckinghamshire Maternal Mental Health Service

The Buckinghamshire Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) is a specialist service.

We provide support and therapy for women and birthing people who are experiencing moderate to severe distress related to pregnancy, childbirth, previous birth trauma (and are currently pregnant) or the loss of a baby.

This service is available across Buckinghamshire.

Why is this support necessary?

Pregnancy, birth and the first year of parenthood can be an exciting and joyous time for many people.

For others, it can be a challenging and upsetting journey in various ways.

This may be due to severe worry about the pregnancy, a difficult or traumatic birthing experience in the past or the loss of their baby.

We understand that your maternity experience, whatever the outcome, can affect your mental wellbeing.

Sometimes this can give rise to intense fear, distress or sadness.

We are here to support you and make sure that you get the help you need.
