CAMHS Community service – Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath & NE Somerset

We help children, young people and their families across Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath & NE Somerset who are experiencing more severe, complex and persistent mental health difficulties.

Referrals must be made via a professional who knows the child or family. This could include a GP, teacher, health visitor, social worker, or other professional.

Referral criteria are as follows:

Emergency referrals

Where a child poses an immediate danger to themselves or others, these are dealt with within 24 hours of receipt.  If in hours, Monday-Friday, 09.00-17.00, please call us straight away on:

If out of hours, professionals please call 01865 901 000 and ask for CAMHS crisis on call (young people or parents / carers should call 111).

 

Urgent referrals

These are seen within 7 days. We  triage all referrals, but if you have particular concerns about a case or are not sure of its clinical priority, we urge you to call us on:

Standard referrals

If anyone living in Wiltshire with a Wiltshire GP wants to request a service from CAMHS, and are not currently open to a local CAMHS team, they should call the Wiltshire CAMHS Single Point of Access on 01865 9033 330.

In Wiltshire, Bath & North East Somerset young people can now ‘self-refer’ to the service using our online referrals form, located here. Please note that this service is currently unavailable in Swindon.

GPs please use the referral form if they are on your GP system.

Other professionals are asked to complete a CAMHS referral form as follows:

Please ensure you include sufficient information for us to screen the referral appropriately, and that the child, young person and family or carers have given their consent to opt into treatment and share their personal information.

Important notice

Visiting restrictions at Oxford Health inpatient wards

There is currently no visiting to any of our community hospitals and mental health inpatient wards.

This is a prescribed app. It should only be used alongside a face to face intervention provided by a mental health worker. Check with your local service to see if they subscribe to the app.
