Virtual Reality

Do you have a fear of heights? Oxford VR is a virtual reality programme that can offer you treatment. Your virtual coach Nic will offer you techniques, support and advice with the guidance of a member of our team.

The virtual environment is based in a building with 10 floors, with interactive, fun, challenging tasks on each floor. 

Treatment will take place in one of our clinic rooms, over 3 to 5 sessions, where you will be in virtual reality for up to 30 minutes.

What are the benefits of VR treatment?

  • Allows you to do things that perhaps you wouldn’t or couldn’t do in real life in the knowledge that you are in a safe environment. 
  • Evokes the same emotions and physical feelings that are equivalent to real life.
  • Allows you to learn things that translate to the real world.

Sleepio

“Improve your sleep without sleeping pills or a referral from your GP.” Sleepio is an online, self-help programme based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) designed to support you to manage sleep problems and insomnia.

There are 6 core online sessions, which are personalised to your sleep needs.

  • Learn to optimise your daytime for sleep
  • Boost the connection between bed and sleep
  • Learn a range of techniques that help clear the mind for sleep

IctSAD

Do you feel anxious in social situations? IctSAD is a new internet-based Cognitive Therapy programme for adults experiencing social anxiety. 

The programme will help you learn what keeps social anxiety going and how to overcome it, through the use of tried and tested practical exercises, as well as discussion with a therapist. 

Just as in traditional therapy, you will have regular support from a therapist. However, this will be mainly via telephone, secure messaging, SMS, and video-calls. Your therapist will ensure that the programme is carefully tailored to deal with your anxiety in social situations.
