Oxfordshire Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service
The Oxfordshire Specialist Perinatal Team is a new specialist service providing assessment and treatment of women with complex and severe mental health problems during and after pregnancy.
Having a baby can be both rewarding and challenging, so it is common for women’s mental health and wellbeing to be affected during this time. However, support is available for those who need it.
The Oxfordshire Perinatal Mental Health Team was set up thanks to a share of £365m of Government funding for perinatal services after a shortfall in support was identified.
We are a specialist, secondary care service providing assessment and treatment for women with moderate to severe mental health difficulties during the pregnancy and up to 1-year post-birth, otherwise known as the ‘perinatal period’. Our service aims to improve access to treatment and better outcomes for women and their families.
Our growing team of professionals are currently helping women in the perinatal period across Oxfordshire who have a range of mental health and wellbeing needs.
