The countryside

The rolling hills of the South Cotswolds and their quaint limestone villages are on the doorstep.

The Ridgeway national trail runs close to Swindon. Spend your weekends visiting hillforts and ancient churches, doing outdoor activities or exploring cosy cafes and pubs.

The National Trust have their headquarters in Swindon and nearby sites include Avebury stone circle, Lacock Abbey and the Uffington White Horse.

There are lovely walks to enjoy on Mouldon Hill, in Stanton park estate, Shaw Forest park and Hackpen Hill. The

Thames and Kennet and Avon canal are also nearby.
