Pressure relieving equipment roadshow

Overview

This roadshow, gives clinicians the opportunity to see first-hand to all the pieces of equipment on the Oxfordshire  Pressure relieving equipment formulary (Adults) – A guide for community clinicians, and compliments the Pressure Damage Prevention & Management – Advanced Course.

Requirements

Prior to attending this course, delegates should have attended the Pressure Damage Prevention & Management – Advanced Course.

Who should attend?

This course is open and free to all Clinical OHFT staff, Adult Social Care Therapists and Practice Nurses.

If you are a prescriber of pressure relieving equipment, then this is an essential course for you. However, this roadshow is for all clinicians, both registered and non-registered, who are involved with people using pressure relieving equipment whichever service they work in, including Mental Health and Children’s services.

Content

The 3-hour course will commence with an introduction to the Pressure Relieving Equipment Formulary and the cushion and mattress selection guides. Most of the time, however, will be spent meeting with the company representatives for each piece of equipment who will be providing guidance and practical demonstrations on the correct use and set up for each piece of equipment. In addition to the cushions, mattresses and heel protectors on the formulary, the Accora Community bed and Configura Riser Recliner chair will also be on hand for demonstrations and guidance on the correct fitting of mattresses and cushions with these items.

Please bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided. To help towards reducing costs and waste, please consider bringing your own cup.
