Developments
This is an exciting time to be in children’s mental health services and in Swindon we are contributing to the innovation and modernisation work taking place across the sector.
We are:
- Delivering a new Crisis and Home Treatment Service (link to Crisis and Home Treatment Service (CAHTS) | Oxford Health CAMHSOxford Health CAMHS ). This team provides intensive support to children and young people experiencing a mental health crisis. Typically they work to support young people being discharged from an inpatient unit or those who might be at risk of an admissions.
- Rolling out new Mental Health Support Teams. In Swindon these are delivered by ABL Health (link MHST Support and Information – BeU Swindon) and in BaNES and Wiltshire by OHFT (link Mental Health Support Team | Oxford Health CAMHSOxford Health CAMHS ). These teams support children and young people who are experiencing moderate mental health difficulties through support they can access at school.
- Working closely with the newly commissioned provider of Getting Help Services in Swindon – ABL Health’s B U Swindon Service (link Home – BeU Swindon) – to make sure our services are joined up.
