Mental Health Support Team

What do we do?

We are a team who work in local schools with young people aged 5-18 years and their parents/carers to provide early help support with mental health and wellbeing.

We work with children and young people experiencing anxiety, low mood and other issues effecting wellbeing by providing 1:1 sessions and group work.

Support for schools

We also support schools with their ‘whole school approach’ to mental health which includes, but is not limited to, staff workshops and training, school assemblies, group work with young people, parent sessions and social prescribing. We work with schools to meet the needs of their students.

Who are we?

The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) consists of Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs), support workers, supervisors, a team manager and other senior staff.

Non-urgent advice: Make a referral

In order to have support from the Mental Health Support Team you would need to be a pupil in one of our allocated schools. Please speak to a member of your schools pastoral team who can make the referral on your behalf.

Do not use the online CAMHS referral form for MHST referrals, as we use a different pathway.
