The Trust has currently a vacancy for a Governor on our Members’ Council. This vacancy is for the constituency/class Carers Buckinghamshire. In order to fill this vacancy we have requested that our Returning Officer, ERS, hold an election. See the formal Notice of Election.

The Members’ Council

All Foundation Trusts have a duty to consult a ‘board of Governors’ (what we call the Members’ Council), which represents service users, carers, staff, members of the public and key stakeholders, in the strategic planning of the organisation. The Members’ Council is chaired by the Chair of the Trust and is made up of appointed Governors and Governors elected by the Membership. In total our Members’ Council has places for 31 Governors.

Who can stand for election?

Only Members who are Carers in Buckinghamshire can nominate themselves to stand for election. If you are not a Member and would like to become one, you can complete an application form.

How to nominate?

If you would like to stand for election, you need to contact ERS, who are conducting the election on our behalf. ERS will be able to provide you with a nomination form and information on how to fill out the form. Please note you do not need to be nominated by anyone else – you can nominate yourself.

The closing date for submission of the nomination form to ERS is noon on Wednesday 7th May 2008. Guidance for completing the nomination form is set out clearly on the form itself. The nomination form should be returned directly to ERS and not to the Trust.
