The Communications Team provides key messages to internal and external stakeholders, supporting teams across the Trust to deliver information, raise awareness and tell their stories.

Acting Head of Communications Martin Crabtree said:

“The team were delighted to receive this award – it is great to be recognised for our collaboration with teams across the Trust to effectively share key messages. This award demonstrates the team’s hard work, creative thinking and commitment to communications.”

The nomination

The Communications Team was nominated by People Promise Manager Emily Buckle – for the support they provide across the Trust and their approachable nature.

Emily commented:

“The communication team are a small but mighty team who have a great impact on the whole Trust with the work that they do. They are part of all major campaigns across the Trust and therefore are integral to the success, helping to ensure messages are shared via different means across the Trust.

“Due to the nature of their work, many of the campaigns rely on their skills and experience to be successful. This inherently puts them in a position of great responsibility to support Trust objectives. However, through working closely with them over the last nine months, they assist in a relaxed but efficient way that really makes you feel supported by them. They have become more approachable as a team and are constantly looking at ways to enhance communication for all.

“Along with their approach to increasing accessibility to information and improving the resources we have available; they are willing to learn about different areas across the Trust and are sensitive to the varying needs. They are acutely aware of their role within the wider system but can be relied upon to deliver high quality (excellent) work.

“The whole team have been instrumental to supporting the work of delivering the People Promise within Oxford Health. This was a strategic objective aligned to the People Plan and the Trust has been an Exemplar Site for the last year. They have supported the whole process with different communication means but also through their knowledge and experience. This has helped communicate the message that Oxford Health cares about its staff and is working proactively to ‘be a great place to work’.

“I have been particularly grateful for the support from Jonathan for his assistance with creating a ‘People Promise in Action’ video that was shared with NHS England visitors and has since been broken down into mini-series. This has shone a light on different areas across the Trust and the impact the People Promise has had in their area. I am also very grateful to Martin for backing the project from the start and releasing resources. Cheryl, Davina & Tim have also all played their parts.”
