This partnership brings cutting-edge digital innovation from the lab into the hands of clinicians and patients, improving outcomes and reshaping care pathways across the NHS.

Kneu Health, a spinout from the University of Oxford, was founded on over a decade of research and clinical validation. Its mission is to make care more accessible, objective, and efficient. The company’s platform combines a smartphone app with a clinician dashboard powered by advanced machine learning and AI analytics. This enables remote monitoring of symptoms, medication adherence, and cognitive function providing clinicians with a comprehensive, real-time view of a patient’s condition outside the clinic.

OHFT has been instrumental in supporting the rollout of Kneu Health’s technology, particularly in memory clinic settings where looking at how digital devices can contribute to dementia care is a growing priority. The collaboration reflects OHFT’s commitment to innovation and its strategic focus on integrating digital tools into community-based care.

Early results from NHS service evaluations have been striking. In one pilot, 90% of patients saw improved clinical outcomes, and over half experienced changes in their care plans, including optimised medication regimens. Patients reported a 12% increase in quality of life, while clinicians gained deeper insights into their patients’ conditions in every case. The platform also enabled remote consultations and patient-initiated follow-ups in nearly half of interactions, contributing to a 20% efficiency saving for NHS services.

OHFT R&D Director, Professor Vanessa Raymont told us: “This collaboration with Kneu Health exemplifies how research-led innovation can directly improve patient care. By integrating digital tools into our clinical pathways, we’re not only enhancing the way we monitor and support people with Parkinson’s and Dementia, but also empowering patients and clinicians with more timely, personalised insights. It’s a powerful step forward in delivering smarter, more responsive care across the NHS.”

Caroline Cake, Kneu Health’s Co-Founder and CEO, emphasised the significance of these results: “Our goal is to make Parkinson’s and Dementia care more accessible and effective. The outcomes from our NHS partnerships show what’s possible when digital health solutions are designed with both patients and clinicians in mind.”

As Kneu Health continues to expand its reach, the partnership with OHFT stands as a model for how academic research, clinical expertise, and digital innovation can come together to deliver real-world impact. Together, they are not only improving lives but also setting a new standard for neurology care in the UK.

Kneu Health collaborates with a range of UK and international partners to advance digital input to care, including OHFT, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where its platform supports remote monitoring and personalised care for Parkinson’s and Dementia patients. These partnerships, often facilitated by innovation hubs like Health Innovation East, enable Kneu Health to validate its technology in real-world NHS settings, improve clinical outcomes, and deliver efficiency savings.

Internationally, Kneu Health works with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the US, piloting its platform with neurology patients and expanding its global reach. Strategic investment from Oxford Science Enterprises and Cedars-Sinai supports its mission to make care more accessible, data-driven, and scalable across healthcare systems.
