New Non-executive Directors appointed

Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust welcomes the formal appointments of Mr Cedric Scroggs, Miss Elaine Whittaker and Mr Lyn Williams as Non-executive Directors from 1st October 2006.

 

Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust welcomes the formal appointments of Mr Cedric Scroggs, Miss Elaine Whittaker and Mr Lyn Williams as Non-executive Directors from 1st October 2006.

Cedric Scroggs has a business and marketing background as Marketing Director of Cadburys and Leyland Cars, Chief Executive of Fisons plc, and latterly a Non-executive Director or Chairman of several public and private companies in a range of industries. A graduate of Oxford University, he was for several years a Visiting Fellow of Nuffield College. Cedric’s NHS experience started before the first wave of Trusts, and he has been a NED of Hillingdon Hospital, a Trustee of the Harefield Hospital Heart Transplant Trust, Chairman of the former South East Oxon PCT, and a NED and Acting Chairman of Oxfordshire Mental Healthcare NHS Trust over several years. Cedric and his wife live near Wallingford, and have three adult children and numerous grandchildren.

Elaine Whittaker has held a variety of senior sales and marketing roles including UK Marketing Manager for Smiths Medical and her current role as Sales and Marketing Director at Business Link. Elaine has an MBA, is a Chartered Marketer and lives in Bicester.

Lyn Williams is a Chartered Accountant and is currently Vice President – Corporate Risk Management with Unilever. Lyn has held a number of accountancy roles prior to this with organisations such as Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Sara Lee. Lyn is married with two grown-up children and lives at Prestwood, near Great Missenden, in Buckinghamshire. He has been a school governor for 16 years in three different schools and is currently Vice-Chairman of Governors at Dr. Challoner’s High School for Girls in Little Chalfont, Bucks. His other interests include choral singing and golf.

In welcoming the appointments Janet Godden, Chair of OBMH, said, “I am delighted that three new Non-executive Directors are joining the Board. The Trust is looking forward to an active year ahead as we move towards Foundation Trust status and our non-executives play an important role in holding the executives to account. The knowledge and experience that they bring to the Board is a significant influence on our decision making.”
