The results of the 2008/2009 annual health check assessment were published by the Care Quality Commission last week.
The assessment reviewed two parts of the Trust’s performance: the quality of its healthcare services and how effectively it manages its financial resources.
Improving on last year, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (OBMH) were amongst the highest scoring Trusts in South Central Strategic Health Authority.
The quality of services that OBMH provides for the local population was rated ‘Good’, scoring competitively against national priorities and meeting ‘core’ service quality criteria. The financial management rating, ‘Excellent’ was again an improvement on former years and provides evidence that the Trust is performing well with low financial risk.
The improvement in our financial management rating to ‘excellent’ now gives us the ability to focus our attention on improving the quality of the services we provide to our patients in line with our values of ‘caring, safe and excellent’.
The results of this assessment are encouraging and OBMH remains committed to providing a high quality of care and we will continue to support this through the views and opinions of our patients.
