Users of mental health services at Oxfordshire Mental Healthcare NHS Trust have praised the care they get from doctors, nurses and other specialist staff as part of a major national survey published today.
A total of 328 service users at Oxfordshire Mental Healthcare NHS Trust took part in the national Mental Health Patient Survey, published by the Healthcare Commission.
The results for Oxfordshire Mental Healthcare NHS Trust show that:
• 76% of respondents rate their overall care as excellent, very good or good
• 89% of respondents have trust and confidence in the psychiatrist and 93% trust their community psychiatric nurse
• 68% felt their psychiatrist listened to them carefully
Oxfordshire Mental Healthcare NHS Trust Chief Executive, Julie Waldron, said: “Following on from the recent 3 star rating for the Trust, this survey is further evidence that our staff are providing the highest quality care and support to people with mental health problems in Oxfordshire. I am especially pleased with the results of this survey, as they represent the opinions of the people that matter the most – our service users.”
