Work on refurbishing Witney Community Hospital will commence on 20 October 2025.
This is a live site with two wards, a Minor Injuries Unit, and an Emergency Medical Unit, with patients are seen across a variety of clinics every day. To minimise disruption for both patients and staff, the building works will be carried out in phases.
Some degree of disruption and noise is inevitable during the building works and whilst everything will be done to minimise it, we thought it might be helpful to answer some basic questions you may have.
Will there be any impact to onsite car parking?
Construction vehicles will be using some of the parking area to the front of the hospital. This will cause minimal disruption as there is plenty of parking on site and in and around the hospital.
We would also encourage our staff to use alternative means of transport, including buses and cycling, to get to and from the hospital.
Will I still be seen in the same clinic?
We will do everything we can to minimise disruption to existing clinics, but some will have to move location within the hospital during specific refurbishment phases.
Where this happens, your clinical team will let you know in advance. Please read your clinic appointment letter to check if the location of your room is set to change.
If you are unsure, call the number provided in your letter for further advice and support. Or speak with the reception staff when you arrive for your appointment.
Non-urgent advice: Queries
If I have a problem, who do I speak to?
If it relates to your clinic appointment, speak with the team who are looking after you. Their contact details will be in your appointment letter.
If you have a more general query about the hospital’s refurbishment programme, please email the project team at CSTransformation@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk.
