Eligibility

NHS podiatry services are offered free of charge. Treatment is directed at three specialist areas of care:

  1. People with diabetes, immunocompromised conditions and/or other circulatory or neurological conditions that can affect foot health.
  2. People who have developed acute foot ulceration.
  3. People with ingrowing toe nails that will either need conservative or surgical treatment to remedy the condition.

Regrettably, NHS podiatry services are unable to provide treatment for people who do not fall into one of the above categories. Details of private registered podiatrists can be obtained from the Royal College of Podiatry or the Health and Care Professions Council

For further advice on whether you would be eligible for NHS podiatry, you should contact your GP.
