Please use our referral form and send the completed form to:
Email: oxfordaeds@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk
What to include in the referral
To help us assess the referral effectively, please include:
- Recent weight and height
- Any significant weight changes, if relevant
- A full blood profile
- Details of eating disorder thoughts and behaviours, including the frequency of any behaviours aimed at controlling or affecting weight
What happens next
We aim to triage referrals within 48 working hours of receipt.
- You will be informed of the outcome by letter.
- If we need more information to complete the triage, we will contact you to request this.
Consultation and training
A duty clinician is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm for consultation. Please contact us if you require advice or support.
If you or your team would like training around eating disorders, we can offer this either in person or online. A member of our team will be happy to arrange a session.
Educational resource
We recommend watching this short video, developed by Kent Eating Disorder services:
Disordered Eating (YouTube)
Please note: we are currently adapting this resource for local use.
Inpatient referrals (SEDU)
Referrals for admission to a Specialist Eating Disorder Unit (SEDU) must first be referred to and triaged by the ACED team.
- Use the standard referral form
- Mark the email as URGENT
Referrals for patients under 18
For individuals under 18 years of age, please refer them to the CAMHS Single Point of Access in the first instance.
We work closely with local CAMHS eating disorder services, and regularly discuss patients aged 17.5 and over to support a smooth transition from CAMHS to adult services.
