Post-Diagnostic Group

Why?

If you receive a diagnosis of autism within our service, you will be invited to attend our Post Diagnostic Group.

The aim is to allow our clinicians and autistic individuals to share their experiences of working or living with autism.

It is opportunity for you to learn more about autism, reflect on what autism means for you and have your experiences validated.

What?

Topics include:

  • What is autism and your diagnostic journey
  • Social communication and interaction in autism
  • Sensory processing differences in autism
  • Anxiety management
  • Day-to-day executive functioning strategies
  • Signposting to services

Personalised information based on discussion, feedback and requests can be provided.

Information and resources are emailed after each session.

How?

6 weekly sessions. You will attend either:

  • Online via MS Teams, or
  • A face-to-face group at The Whiteleaf Centre (Aylesbury) or Saffron House (High Wycombe)

Who?

Two clinicians typically facilitate the group.

Maximum of 8 people per group in total.
