Participation in Oxfordshire

Join ‘The PG’ and have your say

‘The PG’ is your participation group and it’s hand-on and can be fun too – honest! It can help build up your confidence and you can get involved in making videos, website design, art and even public speaking. We’re open to ideas too, so if there’s something you’d like us to set up, please lets us know.

What we’ve done

Here are some of the things that young people have worked with us on:

  • The makeover of our former site at Boundary Brook House in Oxford was designed by members of The PG.
  • The new Highfield Unit in Oxford was designed in collaboration with The PG and young people on the unit
  • The national pilot for Children and Young People, Improving Access to Psychological Services (CYP IAPT) was shaped by young people from across our collaboration – this currently includes interviewing staff, presenting at conferences, training staff and making a film
  • Parent & carer questionnaires have been introduced in to CAMHS alongside young people’s versions to get their views too!

These are some of the film projects that have been shaped by participation:

Parents and carers

The Walking With You group is a parent support group. It is a safe space where you can talk freely among people who are walking the same path as you. There is no judgment and it is completely confidential.

The group is open to anyone who is supporting a child or young person experiencing difficulties, up to the age of 25. You do not need to have a child or young person under CAMHS to join the group.
