OBMH has implemented a secure email encryption system to protect sensitive/person-identifiable information when sending emails externally.
In order for a recipient to receive and decrypt an encrypted email, they first need to register with the Cisco Registered Envelope service. The registration process is only necessary once and covers the recipient for any further secure emails sent from OBMH. You can then use the same system to return emails to OBMH, and these are then covered by our secure email encryption system.
If you regularly send and receive emails to OBMH addresses which contain this sort of data, as you register, you may be asked some security questions so that if you forget your password in the future, who you are can be verified, and the account unlocked. Please be reassured the information supplied is not shared with any other parties, and is kept securely.
The encryption system we offer can be used by anyone who is contacted initially by OBMH with an encrypted email.
Recipient Guide
The Email Encryption Recipient Guide (pdf; 888 KB) provides an explanation for recipients of how to work with encrypted emails received from OBMH.
