The Trust launched its Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Staff Network on 26th June to ensure that all staff, service users and carers continue to be treated equally.

As a Trust, we aim to ensure that all those who come into contact with our services, including staff, have a say in how services are provided and developed.

People from a BME background often have different health needs and the BME staff network will continue to contribute to the development current services to ensure that these are addressed.

The network will also continue to ensure that all staff have equal opportunities, regardless of their ethnicity. The NHS is the largest single employer of BME staff, with 13% of the workforce from a BME background (this Trust currently employs 12%). This is compared to the overall number of black and minority ethnic people in our society which stands at 9.3%.
