Kate Uzzell nomination
Kate has been heavy involved in wanting to improve patients experiences and outcomes within community hospitals.
She has helped co-lead a QI project on improving patient centred care within Didcot community hospital and has helped implement the roll out of ‘What matters to me’ on patient information boards within community hospitals thus improving IWGC results within this service.
This has inspired her to lead her own QI project which she is leading presently.
The main focus of this project is to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the purpose of rehabilitation for both staff and patients, and to increase engagement from both.
This is being done via co-production, involving patients who have had a hip fracture and education them and staff on the knowledge of best practice standards for hip fracture rehabilitation therefore improving patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
Kate always goes above and beyond in the care she delivers to patients and always questions how to improve the rehabilitation care the service delivers.
She is a dynamic leader, who leaderships skills have grown throughout these projects and leads the way on improving rehabilitation care within community hospitals.
