Thursday 28 September, saw the official revealing of a new “trompe l’oeil” window mural in the Occupational Therapy Kitchen at Didcot Community Hospital, the mural was funded by Didcot league of Friends and Debbie Moore from the LOF joined staff and the arts team to celebrate, (Picture attached – Debbie is 3rd from right).

The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) recently announced that Oxford University Professor Husseini Manji and his colleagues Dennis Charney and John Krystal, are the recipients of the 2023 Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Prize in Mental Health.

ORIGIN aims to have a positive impact on the mental health of 16–24-year-olds. The research is led by Dr Rebecca Syed Sheriff at the University of Oxford and builds on very promising preliminary research that showed the enthusiasm of underrepresented young people for online arts and culture (like an online museum) to support their mental health.

A study looking at the longer-term impact of COVID-19 has found that nearly a third of patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19 displayed abnormalities in multiple organs five months after being discharged. Some of these abnormalities have been shown through previous work to be evidence of tissue damage.
