Patients have been praising our team Wallingford Community Hospital for the care, dignity and respect they have received, giving them 5 star reviews on the independent website I Want Great Care.
As a result, St Leonard’s Ward are this week’s Wednesday Wonders.
The ward provides rehabilitation and palliative care for people who no longer require the services of an acute hospital but require greater support than currently provided in their home environment.
The hospital has a dedicated team of nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists supported by administrators, housekeeping and medical teams. Staff work closely with social services to source care placements and liaise with other care agencies.
In their recent reviews, one patient wrote: “I have felt very respected. Staff keep your spirits high when you feel low.” Others reported: “I have been extremely happy here at Wallingford. Staff are all happy and very good,” and “Staff are lovely, food is delicious. Everyone is attentive and meeting my needs.”
Julie Beardmore, Community Hospital matron, said: “It’s always lovely to hear from patients that they are really satisfied with the care they receive. Our teams in all our community hospitals work very hard to ensure we give the best possible service to everyone on our wards.
“Hearing we are doing a great job is a real boost to morale and I’d like to thank all those who have taken the time to give their feedback about St Leonard’s. It is truly appreciated.”
