Dr Jane Gregory

Clinical Psychologist and Wellcome Doctoral Training Fellow

Jane is a clinical psychologist specialising in misophonia. In her previous role at the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT) in London, she set up England’s first specialist psychology clinic for misophonia, making NHS funded cognitive behavioural therapy available for individuals around the country suffering from this little-known phenomenon.

Jane has developed a model for understanding the distress and impact of misophonia and was awarded research funding to test and refine this model through the Wellcome Trust Doctoral Training Fellowship Scheme for Clinicians.

Jane is an active member of the misophonia community and routinely consults with individuals with lived experience of misophonia. The community have helped to make therapy services more useful, to design meaningful research, to interpret research findings, and to accurately represent the condition when communicating with health professionals.

Jane is one of the developers of the S-Five, the world’s first validated questionnaire to capture the multidimensional nature of misophonia. She provides specialist supervision to therapists around the country who are using misophonia-focused CBT.

Jane is particularly interested in working with people who are still in need of support following multiple courses of therapy. She previously worked in the highly specialised service at CADAT for people with obsessive-compulsive disorder and body dysmorphic disorder.
