Proceeds from Fun Run raise over £1000 for OBMH

“It was such an enjoyable day and the support we’ve had has been fantastic. So many people are affected by mental illness. We wanted to raise as much money as possible and help to raise awareness of the work of OBMH and the charitable fund.”

The Trust would like to thank the team of runners who took part in a six mile run, helping to raise over £1000 for our charitable funds. The main purpose of the charitable funds held within the Trust is to apply the income raised for any charitable purpose to local services provided by OBMH. All of the money raised goes to improving services locally for the people who use our services.

Debbie Hollis, Inpatient Service Manager and Lead Nurse for the Trust said: “The equipment purchased will really help to support the work of the nurses and the occupational therapists on the wards. The service users will benefit greatly.”

Service users and carers are currently in the process of deciding what new equipment they would like to purchase with the money raised. Fiona Goodall, who has been carrying out voluntary work for the Trust, and organised the run, said: “It was such an enjoyable day and the support we’ve had has been fantastic. So many people are affected by mental illness. We wanted to raise as much money as possible and help to raise awareness of the work of OBMH and the charitable fund.”
