The NHS in Oxfordshire is asking people in the county to continue to “Choose Well” in the New Year and help ease the pressure on emergency services.
Emergency services are usually kept very busy at the start of the New Year. However, there are many different kinds of services available for people who need health advice or assistance. To make the most of NHS health services people are being encouraged to “Choose Well (document, opens in a new window)” , choose the right service and save time and inconvenience, and get the most appropriate treatment.
If you become unwell this winter, only call 999 in an emergency; think about whether to contact your family doctor, a pharmacy, or a minor injuries unit, before going to A&E or calling an ambulance. Visit www.oxfordshirepct.nhs.uk or www.oxfordhealth.nhs.uk to find out more about the services available.
