Parent/Carer Support
Parents/carers are a crucial part of the recovery process of the young person. We aim to support you as much as possible in your role. This will be in different ways:
Family-based treatment
This is the core treatment in helping young people to recover. You will be involved very closely in plans to assist your child in establishing normal eating and gaining weight appropriately.
Parent work
We will also offer time for you as parents on your own to discuss any concerns and receive support. You may join our Parent Skills Group and/or access one to one support with our Carer’s Lead.
Multi-family therapy
Multi-family therapy is an evidenced based approach in which 4-6 families come together for a 4-day workshop to enhance the recovery process.
Systemic family therapy
If there is a need to talk about family relationship issues you may be offered family therapy sessions with our family therapist.
