Early diagnosis of cancer

In anticipation of the GP contract for 2020-21 in England (with a focus on the early diagnosis of cancer) Cancer Research UK is working with the RCGP to provide free education, resources, and support which increase the knowledge, understanding and confidence of GPs and their practice teams on early diagnosis of cancer including:

• Primary care and cancer matters – the essentials – short educational videos providing relevant and evidence-based updates, lasting 3-8 minutes each. Topics covered include the Early Diagnosis ambition, NG12 implementation: what GPs need to know, the National Cancer Diagnosis Audit and learning events, and FIT screening.
• Early Diagnosis of Cancer Quality Improvement screencasts – a series of five short screencasts providing an overview of four different evidence-based QI approaches and how to apply them.
• CRUK/RCGP Early Diagnosis of cancer e-learning module – a 30 minute e-learning module focuses on lung and bowel cancers.
