Improve your shared decision making skills

Shared Decision Making requires health professionals to be able to describe to their patients the treatment options available to them with the associated risks of each. A recent study has shown that the Shared Decision Making e learning programme on the Health Education England eLfh platform does increase participants’ confidence in, and some aspects of knowledge about, shared decision making and risk communication. But it highlighted the need for improvements in clinicians’ numerical skills.
