Local MP opens Meadow Unit

Anneliese Dodds, MP for Oxford East, has officially opened our new psychiatric intensive care unit, (PICU) the Meadow Unit.

Local MP opens Meadow Unit

Anneliese met with the ward team, and the artists who decorated the building with such originality, with the support of the Oxford Health Charity and Oxford Arts Partnership.

She toured the building, and was very complimentary about the high standards of care we can offer from the modern, therapeutic facility.

The psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) is for young people experiencing the most acute phase of a serious mental illness. This means they receive specialist care close to home, and with an NHS-run service. The eight bedded unit includes a sensory space, art room, and green space outside which includes an outdoor gym.

She also met with the Provider Collaboratives team, and those who worked to plan and design the building. The Meadow unit is alongside Highfield, on the Warneford site.
