Who should be referred?
The following should be referred:
- Potential service users suffering from severe interpersonal problems and poor coping skills for a minimum duration of 5 years which fall within a broad definition of personality disorder or personality difficulties.
- Potential service users who are likely to be able and willing to tolerate group-based psychological work.
Non-urgent advice: Note
Those who take benzodiazepines or ‘z drugs’ (zopiclone etc.) will need to discuss their medication at the point of assessment, as the long term use of these medications may prove a barrier to being able to access therapy with Complex Needs Service.
